A lot of y’all know I’ve been in recovery since 2017. What most don’t see is the internal battle with mental health.
September is Suicide Awareness Month, and I want to be real:
I’ve been in some dark places. I’ve made plans. I’ve taken steps. I’ve made arrangements. I know what it’s like when your mind turns against you — when the weight feels too heavy, no matter how strong, smart, or spiritual you are.
Recovery hasn’t just been about sobriety. It’s been about self-discovery, trauma work, chemistry, spirituality, and rewriting my inner story.
I’m not perfect. But I’m not where I was — and I’ve found real tools and real people who helped me. I want to share them.
Resources- New Hope Recovery — Medically Assisted Addiction Treatment (MAT), local support, and recovery services.
- Greg Greer — Voices of Recovery — Real dude. Real support. You can text him. He’s helped me immensely.
- Juliana Fluit — The Sanctuary Infusion Therapy — Non-traditional infusions that helped when I was stuck.
- Debra Rasberry, NLP — Total Transformations — Powerful mindset work and coaching that shifted patterns.
- Cary Brown, PhD — EMDR, Neurofeedback, Trauma Therapy — EMDR unlocked things I didn’t know I buried.

Psychedelic-Assisted TherapyI’ve personally experienced healing through psilocybin-assisted therapy. Because of Louisiana laws, I’m not linking resources within the USA — but I’m happy to talk in person if you’re curious.
- Finca Mia Retreats (Costa Rica) — Deep, meaningful programs for healing and self-discovery.
- Also worth exploring: Shipibo Tribe retreats in Peru — ancient, legitimate, and deeply rooted in tradition.
At the Barbershop:
- I’m donating 3 haircuts and beard trims to be raffled off at the Psi Chi International Honor Society of Psychology event hosted at ULM, September 8–13.
- For that same week, all of my tips will be donated to Psi Chi, and they will allocate the funds to support local resources.
- During that week, bring me a sobriety chip and you’ll receive a free haircut.
