A Personal Note from Corey Graves

A lot of y’all know I’ve been in recovery since 2017. What most don’t see is the internal battle with mental health.

September is Suicide Awareness Month, and I want to be real:

I’ve been in some dark places. I’ve made plans. I’ve taken steps. I’ve made arrangements. I know what it’s like when your mind turns against you — when the weight feels too heavy no matter how strong, smart, or spiritual you are.

Recovery hasn’t just been about sobriety. It’s been about self-discovery, trauma work, chemistry, spirituality, and rewriting my inner story.

I’m not perfect. But I’m not where I was — and I’ve found real tools and real people who’ve helped me. I want to share them.

Sober Living & Outpatient Options

Psychedelic-Assisted Therapy

I’ve personally experienced healing through psilocybin-assisted therapy. Because of Louisiana laws, I’m not linking resources within the USA — but I’m happy to talk in person if you’re curious.

  • Finca Mia Retreats (Costa Rica)
Deep, meaningful programs for healing and self-discovery.
  • Also worth exploring: Shapibo Tribe Retreats in Peru — ancient, legitimate, and deeply rooted in tradition.

Giving Back

At the Barbershop:

  • Free Haircuts for anyone who brings a sobriety chip (Limit: 2/day, up to 50 total) entire month of September.

You’re Not Alone

Final Words

Monroe is a second-chance town. Whether you’re religious, spiritual, or neither — this is a place where people get back up.

You’re not alone. You are never too far gone. If you’re on the edge, please — stay. A new chapter might be just a page away.

I love y’all. Stay.
